“Public policy is the source from which so many changes flow. It impacts our lives each and every day, whether by affecting us directly or by regulating the activities of commerce and society. It is constantly churning, and it requires vigilance and engagement.
“From a young age, I was fascinated by the way that government interacts with both consumers and businesses, and by its duty to balance their needs and competing interests. This spurred a lifelong passion of working in and with the public sector to give people a say in their government.
“California’s Legislature is one of the most active and consequential in the nation, and it afforded me a remarkable opportunity to learn the ropes of policymaking. In just a matter of years, I found myself being a lead staffer for several assemblymembers on such issues as energy, environmental safety, and parliamentary procedure. There I had a front-row seat – sometimes literally – to the debates and negotiations that shaped legislation in the most populous state, which often blazed a trail for the rest of the country.

Gregory joined Serlin Haley in 2023 after serving nearly ten years on staff in the California Assembly, including over six years as a policy consultant and parliamentary adviser for the Assembly Republican Caucus. Gregory graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2013, where he majored in political science with a minor in public affairs. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, volunteering, and enjoying live music and baseball.
